3.Theory x and theory y of Douglas McGregor ( 1906- 64)
In this theories illustrate the behavior of managers that subscribes to the respective theories pattern for instance managers that subscribe to x assumption believe that the typical worker lacks ambition is self centered, indifferent to the welfare of the organization, and will avoid work if possible this then call for strict control and therefore there is tendency to adopt autocratic style of leadership to make employees undertake the responsibilities . the managers who subscribe to theory y believe that employees normally do not require coercion in order to perform their work , employee can exercise their self direction and self control hence this kind of managers are likely to adopt a participatory approach in their leadership.(Rogers B, 1997).

Vroom suggests five main management decision styles which includes autocratic where a manager leader makes all the decisions alone with involving anyone and getting information from subordinate and make decision alone. Another suggestion of vroom is a consultative leadership in which shares Another suggestion of vroom is a consultative leadership in which shares problem with the subordinates and individual. The leader then makes decision that may or may not reflect the influence of subordinates. The other aspects vroom and Yetton is about the group where they suggested that the problem is shared with subordinates as a group. The leader the act as a chairperson of the group rather than an advocate of his or her views. Therefore together with the subordinates the leaders generates and evaluate alternatives and attempt to reach a consensus on a solution
