Leadership traits are refers as personality; the Great Man Theory can be traced on the research on leaders and followers which were found to be fundamentally different. This led to hundreds research studies that looked at whether certain personality traits, physical attribute, intelligence or personal values differentiated leaders with followers (Richard L. D. e tal ,2009).

The trait approach of leadership is based on early leadership research that assumed that a good leader is born this was based on the reasoning that successful leader posses certain traits that are attribute to their success

In reference to researcher Ralph Stodgily, Richard D. 4 (2009) indicated that Stodgily did not find so much difference between leaders and followers and that many followers ere just as tall, smart, outgoing and ambitious s the people who were leading them but characteristic like intelligence, initiative, stress, tolerance, responsibility, friendliness and dominance were modestly related to leadership success.

Richard H. (2005) refer trait as recurring regularities or trends in a person's behavior and the trait approach to personality maintains that people behave the way they do because of the strengths of the traits they possess. It must also be understood that behaviors are learned or acquired. This then may suggest that leadership can be inborn as illustrated by the traits but at the same time traits can be learnt through training and experience.
