-Rainfall intensity is defined as the rate at which rainfall occurs, expressed in depth
units per unit time, usually mm/hr or cm/hr. It is the ratio of amount of rainfall occurred in unit duration of the rainfall.
-The rainfall intensity of 2.5 mm/hr is termed as light intensity, 2.5 to 7.5 mm/hr as moderate intensity and over 7.5 mm/hr as of high intensity.
-The greater the intensity of rainfall the higher is the runoff and vise versa.
