(ii) God has brought salvation through Jesus from the house of David as He promised
through His prophets.
(iii) God fulfils the promises that He made to Abraham and through the prophets in
the old testament.
(iv) Zachariah outlines the mission of John as the prophet of the most high.
(v) John would go before the lord to prepare the way for him. He was the forerunner of the messiah.
(vi) John’s duty would involve imparting the knowledge of salvation & the people.
(vii) He would call people to repentance and forgiveness in order to restore the right relationship with God.
(viii) He would give light to those living in darkness and guide them into the path of peace.
