Emerging disease
Are diseases whose incidence in humans threatens to increase in the near future or newly appearance infectious diseases that are spreading to new geographical areas.
Example of emerging diseases
1. HINI influenza virus – a bird flu virus that had never before attached humans began to kill people in south east Asia
2. Ebola virus
3. Cryptosporidiosis
4. Eschechia coli 0157:H7
5. Mad cow disease (fatal prion diseases of the brain creutizfeldt – jakob disease

Re – emerging disease
Diseases which were previously easily controlled by chemotheraphy /antibiotics but have now developed antimicrobial resistance and are more often appearing in epidermis form e.g. old enemies – whooping cough, pheumonia, smallpox and polio
Others: Malaria, Tuberculosis, Deugal hemorrhagic fever, Yellow fever
