Discuss the binocular cues of judging depth

Answers

Wilfred
a) Convergence
The more eyes converge to focus on an object the greater the strength of the muscles involved and closer the object is perceived to be.

b)Binocular disparity
Because our eyes are set far apart a slightly different image of an object is cast on the retina of each eye.
When the two images are very different, we interpret the object as being close
When they are nearly identical, the object is perceived as being far
With both eyes the images are perceived as one.
