(i) When God created the heavens and the earth, the land was bare without any life.

(ii) A mist went up from earth and watered the ground.

(iii) God formed man from dust and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.

(iv) God planted the garden of Eden and placed man in it.

(v) God planted trees including the tree of life and knowledge in the middle part of the garden.

(vi) The garden was watered by four rivers.

(vii) God put man into the garden to till and guard it.

(viii) Man was commanded to eat of every tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil lest he dies.

(ix) God created animals and birds and gave them to man to name them.

(x) God created a woman from the man's rib to be his helper.

(xi) Man named her a woman because she was part of his bones and flesh.

(xii) Both lived as husband and wife in companionship and without shame for each other.
