People who are wronged are likely to become bitter and plan to revenge against those who do wrong to them.Revenge is revealed by various characters.
We know that Chagaga the sub chief's brother is the one who killed Adika,Jusper goes ahead and kills him on the night he had left to look after the grave of Adika. He does this to avenge for his brothers death.
After Jere and Mulili disagree on whether to stop the shaving ceremony,Jere shoots at Mulili, Mulili exacts revenge. Mulili reports him to the authorities and the next day he lands in prison.
Jusper kill Mulili during the dress rehersal. Mulili i the one who is responsible for the killing of Juspers's parents after they insist on proceeding with the shaving ceremony.
The prisoners revenge on the evils vested in Kafira by the government.At the palace as they rehearse the play to be staged for the visiting head of state,they overthrow the government through a coup against the government.
In conclusion,revenge is a major concern in the play.The characters try to get even with those who have wronged them.However this causes more distress as evidenced by the imprisonment of Jere and the killing of Chagaga and Mulili.
