Mulili is a government official and a close associate of Boss,also his spy.Although he is not fluent in his speech and lacks education,Boss places him in all committees so that he can be his ear on whatever people discuss about.

Tumbo announces and declares Jusper the winner of the play writing competition even before the contest is carried on and even before he writes the play. Tumbo does so believing that Jusper is Regina's cousin and that he does this in an attempt to please his girlfriend Regina.Regina also hopes that Boss will be able to facilitate the release of her brother Mosese from prison.
