-Water-logging of the soil leads to decreased supply of oxygen in the soil thus causing death of plants roots hence killing plants.This mainly contributes to reduced respiration in the soil.
-Waterlogged soils also contributes to increased released of toxic wastes products by the anaerobic microorganisms.These toxic wastes causes harm to the plants hence plants death.
