(i) Accumulation of garbage leads to blockage of roads/ drainage systems.

(ii) Garbage heaps are on eye sore as they make the environment ugly.
Oil spillage/ Industrial wastes lead to destruction of flora.

(iii) The garbage may result to foul smell/ air pollution, which is hazardous to human health.

(iv) When it rains, the dumped waste/ garbage is washed to rivers causing water pollution.

(v) Garbage can be breeding grounds for rodents/ flies/ cockroaches, which can cause disease outbreak for example, plague.
