- It must end with the statement if not deduct 2AD.
- The story must present a credible scenario and buildup of events which must naturally lead to the given saying.
- The candidate must give an account which places him or her where she or he is at the moment showing how one was offered an attractive give and take deal which eventually leads to a serious defeat or loss.
- The experience should be a lesson that in future, one should be careful in similar circumstances. If this is not apparent, treat as an irrelevance and deduct up to 4AD.
- It must not exceed 2 pages, if more - 2AD for length.

- It must be an expository or discussive essay (accept an argumentive or debate format)
- Comparisons or contrasts must be shown.
