-Modification of attitude by using schools to bring change of attitude in learners on sex roles.
-Retrogressive customs that hinder the advancement of girls have been analysed and better alternatives suggested.
-The curriculum has been revised to correct the bias skewed in favour of boys and male image.
-School textbooks particularly set books have been revised to change the ‘female image’
-Girls should be introduced and encouraged to pursue technical education subjects that are oriented to technical jobs.
-Deliberate efforts have to be made to encourage girls take science oriented subjects. Science subjects should be demystified for the girls to take them with ease.
-Sensitizing the public through barazas and mass media on the importance of educating the girls
-Girls ought to be allowed to go back to school after delivery.
-Free primary education for all works more in favour of the girl child.
-Affirmative action by the government whereby efforts specially by lowering the university cut-off points for the girls, awarding thembursaries and scholarships.
-Government collaboration with NGO s that address girl child issues.
-Enhancing the legislations which outlaw retrogressive cultural practices that lead to girl’s drop out from school.
-There should be support of non-formal education of women groups and adult literacy classes
-More schools for girls especially boarding schools to be established particularly in crime prone areas such as North Eastern Province.
-Separation of former mixed boarding schools into single sex schools.
-Deliberate increase of girls’ secondary schools all over the country.
