I. Alcohol thermometer is the best for use in very cold conditions because its freezing point is very low (-1150c) but cannot be used in a very high temperature because its boiling point is relatively low (780C).

II. Mercury thermometers is best for use in high temperature because of its high boiling points (3570c) but cannot be used in very low temperature because it has a relatively high freezing point (-390c).
