(i) The popularity of Jesus with the people brought Him into conflict with Jewish leaders who feared to lose their authority.

(ii) Jesus failed to observe the tradition of the elders.

(iii) Jesus claimed that He would destroy the Temple which was regarded as blasphemy.

(iv) They claimed He broke the law by carrying out healing on the Sabbath.

(v) He claimed to have power to forgive which sounded blasphemous because God is the only one who can forgive.

(vi) He mixed with sinners which made the Pharisees conclude that a holy person cannot associate with sinners.

(vii) Jesus' way of teaching involved condemning the Pharisees.

(viii) Jesus' claim to be the Messiah contradicted the popular Jewish expectation of a political messiah.
