The small intestine are well adapted for absorbing nutrients during digestion by being very long which ensures the food has enough time to be digested the food takes approximately eight hours,Having villi and micro villi that increase the surface area which help in with absorption, using muscular contraction to move and mix food and also propel the food through the small intestines and as this is happening the pancreas and bile from the gall bladder produce digestive enzymes which enter the small intestine and they help in the breaking down of food.
