Thus, in one revolution the distance moved by the effort= 2pR,
And the distance moved by the load= 2pr.
Hence, the velocity ratio of the system= 2pR/2pr = R/r.
Thus the velocity ratio of a wheel and axle is the ratio of the radius of the wheel to the radius of the axle.
