Transmission and pathogenesis
Pasteurella spp. are transmitted by animal bites, scratches or licks. Animals do not have to be ill to pass the bacterium to humans, as they can carry the organism without showing symptoms.

Clinical signs
Depression and toxemia. Fever [40-41°C]); serous (watery) to mucopurulent nasal discharge; moist cough; and a rapid, shallow respiratory rate may be noted

Bacterial culture, clinical signs

Treatment and control
Antibiotics
Control by vaccination and all in/all out herd management
