Describe Punishment stimuli.

A punisher is a stimulus whose presentation decreases the probability that a behavior will occur. If an organism’s behavior or response is followed by something negative, e.g. a shock, a reprimand etc, the behavior will occur less often. This process is called punishment and its effects are just the opposite of reinforcement. The use of punishment to change human behavior is widespread. Prison, traffic fines and spankings are just a few common examples. Think of relevant examples of punishment in your occupation that could be meted out to check certain behavior.
