Includes memories of facts. Tulvine subdivides declarative memory into semantic memory and episodic memory. Semantic memory includes memories of general knowledge, such as definitions of an omelet or components of a word whereas episodic memory: includes memories of personal experience tied to particular times and places, such as the last time you made an omelet or used a word processor.
