(i) Performance in school may drop as the children progresses to higher levels/ poor foundation.

(ii) Have short attention span/ concentration span making them unable to cope.

(iii) Their self-esteem is affected by not being able to perform/ achieve like older children.

(iv) It is a formative stage of which brain development is critical/ are mentally/ cognitively immature/ not able to understand abstract concepts/ are not ready cognitively/ their cognitive structures lag behind of those of older children.

(v) Their language skills are inadequate/ have limited language/ not able to express themselves well enough.

(vi) Their fine/ gross motor skills are not fully developed to handle given tasks/ activities beyond their level.

(vii) They lag behind older children in expression of emotions/ understanding others emotions.

(viii) They may not be able to interact with older children/ egocentric/ their social skills may lag behind.

(ix) Lack reading/ writing/ awareness skills to prepare them for the next level/ limited knowledge to use pencils/ books.
