These will affect the process of digestion hence affecting the growth of a child.

(ii) Environmental conditions.
Socio-economic status of a family and availability of food may affect the growth of a child.

(iii) Hereditary traits.
A child will be big or small because they take after their parents.


(iv) The type and amount of food the mother takes during pregnancy.
This will affect the weight of the mother and in turn affects the size of the baby.

(v) Lack of enough and correct nutrients.
This will affect the growth of the baby.
