(i) If the condition is very severe, the teacher can refer the child for medical assistance.

(ii) If the parents are from different communities the teacher should advise the parents to use one common language to communicate with the child. This is to avoid confusing the child.

(iii) The child should not be over-protected or restricted.
He/ she should be allowed to mix and share ideas with other children of the neighbourhood and class, to build his/ her self confidence and have a sense of belonging.

(iv) The teacher should advise the parents and all family members to give to the child as a form of support.
This gives them a sense of belonging.

(v) The child should be allowed to express himself/ herself freely without unnecessary interference to build his/ her confidence.
