1) Entrepreneur role
Performed when managers seeks to improve work unit by adopting a new technique to
improve a particular situation or modifying all techniques.
2) Disturbance handler role
Establishes a manager as a responder to change of disturbances affecting the
organisation.
Managers are often called upon to respond to unwelcome pressures e.g. strikes, fire
outbreaks etc.
3) Make or buy decisions
Managers are the ones to determine whether the firm will produce a certain product or if
it will buy. They check on the cost of producing and buying whichever is effective the
managers will decide.
4) Continue or discontinue in a given production line.
This is a role that managers are to decide whether a given production line should continue
in the organisation or cease based on the cost incurred in producing the commodity and
the profit or loss realised.
