Social and economic interactions: the constitution of Kenya provides freedom of movement and association. It allows different communities to interact through inter-community marriage, playing games together and to settle anywhere in the country. Only one currency is used to transact business in Kenya, the Kenyan shilling.
Economic inequality: in situations of serious economic differences, the poor and the rich live as if they don’t live in the same country. Poverty causes a threat to security and thus affects national unity
Equal distribution of resources: the government attempts to improve the standards of living of the people by investing money in education and training, in health care and by developing resources in all areas
Racism and intolerance: racism leads to attacks which work against national unity. Intolerance leads to conflicts where citizens chose not to accommodate others who hold opposing views
Corruption: this practice instills the notion in people that only money can be used to get public service or bend laws to avoid punishment for crimes committed. It involves the abuse of office and nepotism
