(i) Trains and certifies Early Childhood Development and Education, teachers and trainees to ensure employment of qualified personnel who will give quality services.

(ii) Set policies that will guide the management of the ECDE programmes.

(iii) Undertakes early identification of disabilities and assessment to help contain/ manage the problem.

(iv) Provides assessment personnel and assessment centres, also equip the centres with facility.

(v) Carries out advocacy-thus creating awareness to the stakeholders.

(vi) Facilitates networking and forming linkages-soliciting for funds which are used for assessment.
