(i) Inadequate space to talk and play, especially in towns may encourage fathers and children to stay away from home adding to social problems.

(ii) Cooking fires on the floor are hazardous to small children, because they can lead to accidents like suffocation, chocking and burns.

(iii) Earth floor, walls and unscreened windows permit the entry of breeding of bedbugs, fleas and mosquitoes which can spread infections to the children.

(iv) A combination of dampness, lack of light, poor ventilation and overcrowding contribute to the spread of air-borne droplet infections.
