ii. One could also die due to breaking a taboo in such instances elders would identify the
offender and perform an act of cleansing.

iv. Angering the living dead and the spirits e.g. if a person may not have been buried
properly.
v. Taking oaths falsely.
vi. Dishonoring or insulting God. These could be through words or deeds.
vii. Magic, sorcery and witchcraft. The degree of which witchcraft as a cause of death is
emphasized varies from one community to another.
