2. Supervises Kadhis and the Magistrate Courts

3. She/he is the chief administrator of the judiciary

4. Swears in the president and senior government officials e.g. cabinet ministers and magistrates

6. Hears and decides on cases both civil and criminal in high court of appeal

7. In case of health problem of the president which is rousing public concern he appoints a tribunal to ascertain whether the president is capable of his function or not
