Peter stayed with his parents in Malindi for eight years. His red blood cell count was about 4.5 million per one milliliter of blood. They migrated to Kisii town and after one year his red blood cell count was approximately 6.2 million per one milliliter of blood. Explain reason for rise in the number of red blood cells.

The rise in the number of red blood cells was caused by acclimatization.
Due to low oxygen partial pressure, numerous red blood cells were formed to increase surface area for oxygen carrying i.e. to increase the oxygen carrying capacity.
