Colonization: Britain had been a colonial power for many years. In the eighteenth century, she had colonized India and America, in the nineteenth century she took up colonies in Africa. From her colonies, she acquired industrial raw materials and market for industrial products
Naval force: Britain was the world’s greatest naval force. She used her navy to guard sea routes from pirates and other intruders. The forces also protected the merchants in the trading ports
Government policy: the government encouraged a free and open market economy. This encouraged individual or private sector investments. The government policy of capitalism encouraged British nationals to form companies to venture into industrialization. Equipped with such support, industrial investment grew rapidly in Britain. The government also removed all custom barriers that could hinder industrial development
