The industrial revolution led to the scramble and partition of Africa. Colonies were seen as assets from where to get industrial raw materials and sell their products. They were further viewed as outlets for investing surplus capital accumulated by the industrial bourgeois
The industrial revolution led to the birth and growth of Marxism. This was an ideology which was advocated by Karl Max. It condemned capitalism for its exploitative tendencies.
It led to the growth of middle class comprising of urban workers who became vocal in demanding for reforms took an active role in the decision making process.
The revolution led to the emergence of the Trade Union Movement. This was in response to the poor conditions in which industrial workers were exposed to.
