12. Collapse of the British Empire. The attainment of independence of former British colonies e.g. Ghana inspired Kenyan nationalists to push for independence through stepped up struggle.
13. India and Ghana gave material and moral support to the Kenyan nationalists. This sped up the attainment of independence.
14. The Trade Union Movement fostered unity in that it mobilized workers from all parts of the country.
