2. Must be staying or owning property in his/her constituency

3. Pay Ksh. 10,000 deposit

4. Must be of sound mind

5. A citizen who has attained age 21

6. Registered in some constituency as a voter.

7. Be able to speak, read and write English and Kiswahili to enable him participate in parliamentary debates

8. Be sponsored or nominated by a registered political party

9. Has been living in Kenya for the last six months before elections are held

10. Should not be one who has been declared bankrupt.
