The temperature reading in Can A was lower than in Can B. Dull surfaces aabsorb heat while shiny surfaces reflet heat. Therefore since Can A was absorbing heat while Can B was reflecting within the liquid, A lost heat to the atmosphere at a faster rate than B thus the difference in thermometer reading.
