(i) The land is prepared and the seedlings from the nursery are transplanted in rows
(ii) The young plant is shaded from the sun and watered regularly
(iii) Mulching is done around the roots to reduce evaporation of water
(iv) Fertilizers are applied and spraying done to protect the plant from diseases and pests
(v) The coffee bush produces after 3-4 years and the red ripe berries are picked by hand
(vi) In the factory, the coffee berries are weighed and sorted out to keep the farmer’s records
(vii) The skin is then removed during the processing and the beans are fermented and washed. They are later dried under the sun for two weeks and the beans are bagged and sent to the market.
