(ii) At the ginnery, cotton fibre is separated from the seeds

(iii) The fibre is then washed

(iv) The fibre is combed or carded to form a rope-like mass called sliver

(v) Sliver is fed to spindles to make cotton yarn

(vi) Yarn is the dyed and made into material

(vii) The seeds are crushed to yield oil and the residue is used as fodder
