(iv) Insert a red litmus paper into the gas jar containing ammonia gas.
The red litmus paper turns blue indicating the presence of ammonia.
Insert a glass rod into concentrated hydrochloric acid and bring it to the mouth of the gas jar containing ammonia gas.
White dense fumes indicate the presence of ammonia gas.
