Let xkg of grade costing shs.80 be mixed with ykg of grade costing shs.100
Cost = 80x + 100y
Selling price = 125 (80x + 100y)
100
= 100x + 125y
Selling price of mixture = 120(x + y)
120x + 120y = 100x + 125y
120x – 100x = 125y – 120y
