When the blood is hypertonic (have high conc of solutes) more ADH are released into the blood from the pituitary gland and transported to the kidney tubule. They stimulate the water reabsorption from the tubules into the blood. When there is excess water in the body, less ADH are released hence reducing water reabsorption into the blood from the tubules.
