i. Hananiah was a false prophet who challenged Jeremiah in the Temple before priests.

ii. He denied that God was going to bring back all temple treasures from Babylon.

iii. Hananiah also claimed that God would bring back those sent to Exile including Jeconiah.

iv. He claimed that God would break down the power of Babylon.

v. Jeremiah dismissed Hananiah as a false prophet who prophesied peace when there was no peace.

vi. Hananiah took Jeremiah's wooden ox York and broke it to symbolize end of colonization.

vii. Jeremiah waited upon God’s word offer which he condemned Hananiah and predicted his death which eventually occurred.
