- Naming the audience or learners for whom it is intended. It should be stated in terms of learner activities rather than the teacher. They should state whose capabilities should be changed.
- Specifying the behaviour or capability to be learned and the conditions under which the capability will be observed. What will the learner do at the end of the instruction? behaviour/verbs which are observable should be stated e,g Recall, revise, write, demonstrate, categorize.
- State conditions under which the objectives will be achieved e.g given a leaf the leaner should be able to name parts of a leaf.
- Sate the degree to which the new skill must be mastered. The standard by which the capability can be judged. The criteria can be state in qualitative or quantitative terms.
