(i) Captive groups
A captive group has been defined as “an assembly of people that the researcher has enough control over to allow for completion of questionnaires” (Kelly, 1999). In addition, a captive group may be obtained by administering the questionnaire to students in each class. This method has a very high response rate.

(ii) In-person Interview
In this method, the interviewer reads the questionnaire verbatim and records the answers either mechanically or in writing.
iii. Self administered questionnaires
Questionnaires are send to the respondents through mail or hand-delivery, and they complete on their own.
iv. Researcher administered questionnaires
The researcher can decide to use the questionnaire to interview the respondents. This is mostly done when the subjects may not have the ability to easily interpret the questions probably because of their educational level.
v. Use of the internet
The people sampled for the research receive and respond to the questionnaires through their web sites or e-mail addresses

(vi) Phone Administration
Questionnaires may also be administered by phone to those who own telephones. The phone interview should not last more than five (5) minutes. Thus, no more than six questions should be asked.

(vii) Mail Administration
This is an expensive way to cover a large geographical area. However, this method has a low response rate.
