-Environment laws can require a business not to dump waste into water bodies/ rivers/lakes – forcing it to look for alternative ways of waste disposal which may be costly / expensive.
-Legal requirement to have licenses – may cause delays in starting especially if issuing involves long procedures / is expensive.
-Ban of a particular product – may cause closure of the business if it was producing that product / if a ban is imposed or an inferior product that the firm produces.
-If a monopolist outraces others out of business – government regulation / interference to regulate prices may negatively impact on profits.
-Government requirements on provision of welfare / proper working condition may negative impact / reduce profit margins.
-Quotas on the production / distribution of a product – may reduce sales / profits of a firm.
