a) linoleum block
-Lino cutters - goudes / scrives
b) sketch and prepare the simple composition, refine the idea
-the block should equal size of the composition
-sandpaper the block to remove grease, dirt and produce grip
-use Carbone paper to transfer composition from paper to block
-cut away unwanted parts to remain with desired areas standing in relief.
-Pour it on to a non absorband surface e.g. glass, transfer onto a roller and then to block
-place a paper on the inked surface, rub while exerting pressure with a dry roller. May use padded surface and place the block on it.
-Peel off the paper or lift the block, make sure ink is adequately transferred onto paper.
-Print will appear in reverse unlike lettering in graphics
-Let print dry, mount or frame and display.
