Both the mitochondria and the chloroplasts have:double membranes, a fluid matrix, their own DNA material and generates energy in form of ATP. On the other hand they differ as follows; mitochondria carries out the process of respiration while the chloroplasts carries out the process of photosynthesis. Mitochondria has mtDNA while chloroplasts have chloroplastDNA. Mitochondria have cristae while chloroplasts lack cristae.
