Mulili is a disrespectful man,When he and Jere are sent to stop the shaving ceremony,he has no respect for the old couple,Nina and Doga. This is because he has been promised grade cattle and acres of land by Boss if the ceremony does not go on.Being a human being he should have at least some respect for the dead Adika and the parents because he knows the customs and traditions of the people of Kafira,At one point he exchanged words with the old couple when Nina threatened to strip naked, this shows how the people of Kafira are living in a disrespectful world.
Mulili only thinks about himself .When Jere suggests to him that they could just bent the law a little bit to allow the old cpuple to go on with the shaving ceremony,he says,"My future depends on this.....A big farmer I become when I retire ....I say no ceremony.
Me count out...Boss promised many acres of farm and grade cattle .....primitive ceremony"He even refuses to support Jere on the idea until Jere uses a pistol to get him out of
there. This clearly shows that the government of Kafira consists of self centered and selfish people.
The government of Kafira is one that has many people going out for revenge when wronged, even the slightest wrong. At on point ,Mulili arrive that the entertainment committee late, this is because he had gone to see Boss over the his supply of milk to the university which had been terminated. He says " ...now it remain for me to go look for the one who go behind my back to make them cancel it....".He even goes to Boss to tell him of Force lies that Kabito and said about Boss,Simply because to him,he had been called a primary school kid, which was not the case.Later we have Kabito killed through a planned road accident.
Through Mulili's actions of deceit,Kafira has become a state that can not be trusted by its people because of her leaders. Mulili been a leader should not have told Boss lies against Kabito because he was innocent and he ended up dying through a planned road accident.
All this actions have revealed that Kafira is a state full of egocentric persons, vengeful and deceitful individuals who can not bring any progress to its people.
