-Frictional unemployment.
Frictional unemployment is caused by industrial friction which come about as a result of lack of knowledge of existing job opportunities within the labour market. Shortage of raw materials within the industries, breakdown of machinery, immobility of labour and lack of required qualification may also cause frictional unemployment.
-Seasonal unemployment
Seasonal unemployment is predominantly found within the agricultural, construction andmining sectors. In agricultural sector, unemployment is caused by seasonal variations.
-Structural unemployment
Structural unemployment results from structural change within the economy, which comes about as a product of technological changes for example, the computer skills.
-Disguised unemployment
If a certain percentage or proportions of workers are removed from the production process
and the level of output remains constant, then such numbers of workers are termed to be
disgusted unemployed.
-Educated unemployed
This is a situation where we have a lot of workers who have attained academic qualification up to secondary school (form 4) level and are 18 years of age and they are looking for jobs at existing markets rates but cannot get any.
-Cyclical unemployment
This comes as a result of business cycles. This commonly applies to tourist and agricultural sectors. The boom/peak period is experienced more by business when the margins of productivity of most of the workers go very high and their marginal outputs go up. Most of the firms make more profit or return and are in a position to employ more workers.
-Open unemployment
This refers to a situation where labour resources are idle.it may be voluntary or involuntary.
