According to Ezewu (1983), the socialization process assists in the transformation of the human raw material of society into full membership of society. Specifically socialization helps in:
- Transmission of culture.
- Teaching of social roles.
- Formation and development of culture.
- Social control: One learns how to behave in society.
- Giving an Individual aspirations thereby assisting in the acquisition of self-esteem,
- Controlling one's emotional needs. In this way, the will power of an individual is trained to perceive things in the right perspective.
