State and explain the Elements of community strength.

a) Altruism
Is the willingness to do things which benefit other people. This is the act of caring about the needs and happiness of other people more than your own. It indicates extreme commitment to a group or community.

b) Common values
These are general ideas that people share about what is good or bad, desirable or undesirable. Common values hold community together.

c) Communal services
This is the kind of activity or services that members of a community engage in together or share in order to help each other. Members of a community engage voluntarily in communal services because they want to and not because they are forced .e.g. clearing river banks, weeding, and gabion buildings .etc.

d) Communication
This is the transfer of information from one person to another by use of a given channel. The easier method of communication is by use of speech. Communication strengthens members of a community because they will be informed about their surroundings.

e) Confidence
In a community people usually have the feeling that they can trust, believe in and be sure about the ability and good quality of a community together.

f) Intervention
This involves the ability of community members and other outsiders becoming involved in community situations in order to improve its methods of communication. Intervention can include: management, stimulations and awareness. These methods will hold the community together.

g) Leadership
This involves directing and control of a group of people. It entails showing directions .Strong community leadership involves is essential in all community because it determines situations in the community.

h) Networking
This involves the community connection. The connection of a community has with the government or a local administrative leader promotes community development because through this connection the community member can get things done.

i) Organization
Is a group of people who come together to achieve a particular goal. Members of an organization like a community usually have a shared goal and the community organization has a structure that is controlled by norms, rules and regulations.

j) Political power
Politics is the process by which people gain or lose power. There is an element of politic in community. Political power in a community remains in the control of political leader or government has over the people behavior or experiences or experiences.
Political power also involves the increasing community capacity to get things done through the community social organization. It enhances development and therefore its unity.
